Hip and Buttock Liposuction
Extra Junk in Your Trunk Weighing You Down?
Extra weight in the hips and buttocks can be problematic for many people, especially women. As denoted in modern pop culture, it’s okay if “baby’s got back,” but not too much fat around the hips and backside. How much is a matter of personal taste. Hip and Buttock Liposculpture permanently removes common problem area fatty deposits and adds contour and curves to your figure. The Tumescent liposuction technique is targeted to remove unwanted fat, smooth, lift and firm the hips and posterior. This simple and safe procedure is also the way to regain a more youthful shape and wear more tailored clothing. Tumescent liposuction of the hips and buttocks may be the easiest way to get the derriere of your dreams.
Liposculpting of the hips and buttocks is much safer than traditional liposuction. With the Tumescent technique, only a local anesthetic is used to numb the area and the patient remains coherent throughout the procedure, which is very safe and relatively painless during recovery. Very few small incisions are made and placed in the folds of the buttocks and just above the thigh to insert the 3mm cannula laser instrument, allowing the doctor to gently melt away and vacuum the fat. The technique also encourages skin tightening of the area. Through the 3mm incisions, the surgeon slowly guides the cannula to the targeted areas to remove the excess fat with precision and resulting in less pain, bruising and downtime for the patient.
All procedures are performed on site at our state-of-the-art clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. Again, Tumescent Liposuction is the safest alternative to traditional liposuction. Here are some other advantages to the Tumescent technique:
- Tumescent Liposuction is a safe, permanent, lasting procedure that eliminates unwanted fat and leaves you with a newly sculpted figure that fits in your favorite jeans.
- The Tumescent procedure lasts only an hour or two, depending on the designated fat removal. This technique is designed to safely remove fat and tighten the area, simultaneously.
- There is very little pain after surgery, minimal incisions and little potential of scarring after the healing process.
- Since Tumescent Liposculpting is performed with only light sedation, most patients return to normal activity and work within 24 to 48 hours.
What are the benefits of hip and buttocks liposuction?
There are many benefits to having hip and buttocks liposuction, such as: better fitting clothes, improved confidence, tighter skin, a more youthful appearance, and some extra attention. The tumescent liposuction procedure reduces fatty deposits and restores proportionality to the body. Get ready for your new body.
What should I expect to happen during the procedure?
Tumescent hip and buttock liposuction or liposculpting is performed on-site in our safe, state-of-the-art clinic, so there are no additional fees. Patients are lightly sedated with a local anesthesia, so they remain awake and coherent throughout the surgery. The process is simple, patients are numbed and then one or two small incisions are made in the upper and lower abdomen for the placement of the cannula, the small tubular instrument that acts as vacuum to remove the fat. The cannula is only 3 mm in size, so it leaves no unsightly scars. Abdominal liposuction lasts only two hours, and patients are able to walk out of the office with a newly sculpted body. Patients are not permitted to drive, however. Each patient will need to be picked up after the surgery and driven home.
What makes me a good candidate for hip and buttocks Liposculpture?
It is recommended that patients are in good health when undergoing any surgery to reduce risks and potential complications. This procedure is not a means of removing weight in excess, it is a more a procedure to remove moderate amounts of fat and contour the mid-section and waist area of the body. This procedure is recommended for people that have fatty deposits under the abdominal muscle – and patients with barrel-shaped waists, muffin tops, tummy rolls, spare tires and post-pregnancy flab that does not respond to exercise or diet.
Can hip and buttocks Liposuction be combined with other procedures?
Absolutely. Many of our patients choose to combine Tumescent Liposuction of the hips and buttocks with other procedures – particularly thigh Liposculpture. This way, we can target all of your problem areas at once.
Will the surgery leave scars or excess, sagging skin?
Only two small incisions will be visible on the buttocks and hips after Liposuction and each is only 3 mm wide. These incision marks heal very quickly after the surgery and scarring is usually not an issue, because they are so small and they fade to the blend into the natural color of the skin.
People below the age of 60 with good skin tone will not experience sagging skin after the surgery, which is another benefit of the Tumescent liposuction technique. This procedure is designed to promote skin tightening as the fat is removed. Unless your skin is already very thin, wrinkled, or lax due to aging or dramatic weight loss, you will usually see an improvement in skin tone and firmness. Older patients and people who experience considerable weight loss actually pursue Tumescent liposuction as a solution to sagging, flabby skin.
Are there any post-surgery side effects?
Because Tumescent Liposuction is such a safe and targeted procedure that utilizes refined instruments to perform the surgery, the side effects are minimal and any discomfort or mild soreness goes away within a day or two. There are no stitches and the tiny puncture wounds heal within two days. Patients may have mild discomfort and perhaps some light bruising, but they can walk, resume normal activities and return to work within 24 to 48 hours. Each patient is required to wear a compression, under garment around the surgical area for three days and nights, and for at least eight hours a day for two weeks. The garment is very similar to an Ace bandage and it is easy to wrap and unwrap and is not noticeable under clothing.
There may be some slight swelling in the area after the procedure, which will subside after the Tumescent solution is absorbed and eliminated through the body, but there is no pain associated with this healing process. The waist and stomach areas tend to take the longest to recover from Tumescent liposuction, and great results are visible within a month or two – and final results within six months.
